  • What is your shipping policy?
    Processing time, Lead time, and shipping time are different. Products with a lead time will ship as soon as they are ready. You will be notified prior to shipment. ​ Processing time is the time between receiving your order and the time to ship your order. On in-stock items, the processing time can be up to 3 business days to pull, pack, and ship your order. Large orders or times of increased business may extend the processing time. ​ Shipping times may vary depending on your location and the shipping method selected at checkout, but most orders are received 2-5 days after shipping. ​ The majority of orders ship the next business day and arrive within 2 days for customers on the East Coast and 5 days on the West Coast. ​ Temperature Matters If the temperature for the locations involved is out of range for the entire period of transit, we may hold the order until a suitable window opens up, or we may contact you to see if you want to use an insulated shipping container, which incurs additional costs.   • What is your return policy?
    We want you to be completely satisfied with your VA Spores & More purchase. Due to the nature of some of our products, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges of any living product, except for The Oyster Pail, which comes with our standard 14-day return policy. All non-living products and merchandise can be returned within 14 days of purchase for a full refund. You must pay all incurred shipping costs to return the item to us. Shipping costs are non-refundable. However, if there is a problem with your order, please contact us, and we will try to find a solution. Shipping costs for returns or exchanges are the customer's responsibility.

  • How long can I store my products?
    If you are not ready to use your grain spawn or fruiting block when it arrives, you can store it for up to one month after you've received it. Grain spawn does well stored in the refrigerator for up to 60 days. Fruiting blocks should be kept in the dark, and the temperature should stay between 50 and 65F if used within a couple of days. Storage If you are not ready to use your Oyster Pail when it arrives, you can store it for up to one month after you've received it. Please do not open the box and keep it in a dark spot. Make sure the temperature stays between 50 and 65F. Higher or lower temperatures could trigger fruiting or damage the Pail; for best results, use upon arrival. Oyster Pails stored longer or in dry conditions may still be viable. Soak the Pail in water for 12 hours to start the fruiting process. To use: The Oyster pail is versatile, allowing you to grow successfully indoors or outdoors. To prepare The Oyster Pail for fruiting, remove from packaging. Next, remove the stickers covering the fruiting sites(holes in the Pail). Spray/mist fruiting sites twice daily to prevent the fruiting sites from drying out. Mushrooms are 90% water, so they need humidity to grow. Warning: Keep away from heater, vents, radiators, fireplaces, wood stoves, and other heat sources. Heat and direct sunlight will cause the substrate to dry out, which may cause the mycelium to die. For more information see here
